The retailer targets women in their 30s and 40s, with its in-house design team interpreting catwalk trends and creating new collections every month to keep the product offer fresh and drive footfall. Wallis trades through around units across the UK and Ireland, with department store concessions making up a big chunk of the total. The retailer delivers online to or so countries around the globe and has also entered into online partnerships with the likes of Zalando and Nordstrom to take its offer to a global audience.

Wallis still had around outlets at the turn of the Millennium. On 30 November Arcadia entered administration. The Wallis brand, but not the shops, was bought by the online retailer Boohoo. They were brothers and very much a team. Jeffrey as he got older unfortunately forgot about his baby brothers contribution after he died which was rearly sad. I worked with Harold for many years in retail after he sold wallis and he was a tremendous highly skilled ,principled retailer who never was interested in the limelight unlike his brother.
