Spam any AOE's and heal yourself up if you can to draw agro and kill the mobs beating on you Keep working from back to front, destroying the eggs on the orb platform last and sleeping any dragons that come near you.
Ignore any other bad guys. Good luck to you and happy hunting. Comment by Chaix little tip for ret pallies who are doing this guy: switch your talents so that you have , the hot will bring everything right to you and keep you alive while you're mc'ing the boss. Comment by arty Well you guys must have better luck then me then.
Just tried it on my prot pally ilevel Have no probs keeping myself alive but there are just too many non dragonkin adds and razorgore goes down quicker then the eggs do. I agree that they shouldnt make it too easy to solo but come on Comment by arty i give up.
Comment by Dastank 5. Comment by Lancun To the massive amount of folks thinking this is still impossible for their class to solo, and need a little bit of help, Terracotta Fragment is awesome.
The Terracotta Guardian "pocket tank" is a really good trinket to bust out as soon as you start the fight. After the first MC on Razorgore wears off and the adds slowly start pouring in, his aggressive charging and taunting slowly takes him towards the center of the room where he's more viable to pull adds off of Razorgore as you keep taking the eggs out.
This trinket truly kicks ass; it's allowed my Rogue to solo this, Onyxia, and Viscidus using Elemental Force and spamming AR and Killing Spree wasn't quite enough to shatter him, this guy put me over the top of hits required.
It's paid off for the grind to get it from the rare in Valley tenfold already. Comment by As others have stated, as of patch 5. I just finished killing him, and thought I'd post some tips for everyone The most difficult thing is keeping Razorgore alive.
Run in, kill the controller, and click on the orb. Run Razorgore around, clicking on your "Destroy Egg" ability while standing atop or just behind the eggs on the ground.
Keep this up until the adds start spawning. Wait until you have adds on Razorgore, then click the "Exit Vehicle" button. As soon as you exit the vehicle, most of the adds that WERE on Razorgore will switch to you a few might stay on him, but not many.
AoE your little heart out atop the platform for a few moments, killing as many as you can before Razorgore gets to you. Once Razorgore gets to you, you can try single targeting a few more adds around him down if you need to, just try not to hit Razorgore.
These adds will be on you at this point, so they're no longer much of an issue, since Razorgore takes a lot more damage from them than you will. Click on the orb again, rinse and repeat. The key to doing this solo is to exit the "vehicle" of Razorgore often. Each time you do, you will reset the aggro of the mobs that WERE on him to you.
This helps keep him alive, which is definitely the most difficult part of this encounter. Edit: I had stated that ALL of the adds switch to you when you exit the vehicle, which doesn't appear to always be true.
MOST will, however, and if you have a weak AoE that you can run over to Razorgore and do to get the adds off him it won't take much - without hurting Razorgore too much - that may help. Hopefully this helps others! Comment by Furydeath IDk about you but it's unsoloable on my mage the orb doesn't work. Comment by Chromell He is soloable by mages under certains conditions.
My solo: leave a glyphed Rune of Power right where you'll be standing to control the orb and kill the ads near it, pop Ice Barrier and begin smashing eggs. Now this is where the problem begins, even thought you'll get aggro from some mobs, some other will still go after Razorgore. The boss has around k hp and will die fairly quickly so you have to be fast, make sure to put the dragonkin mobs to sleep to minimize the damage the boss takes.
As soon as the first channeling ends, pop Mirror Image and this trinket , they've helped keep many ads away from the boss and it gave me time to destroy the remaining eggs. I did it in Fire spec, but I believe Frost would be ideal with another target to get aggro , considering he doesn't vanish once you touch the orb, just remember to leave it on Defensive so it can attack anything that bothers you regardless of what you're doing.
Comment by Danicalo Easily soloed by resto shaman. When razorgore gets back to you drop healing stream totem and mind control him again, this will pretty much heal him back to full.
This may not work specifically for everyone but should help in general. First start with the eggs on the furthest side before the mobs spawn. You can continue to do this probably the first couple of waves but be careful of his HP. If you have spells available to heal Razorgore, break the MC with a heal on him, then heal yourself. You should have heal aggro on everything by then. I believe I was getting aggro from Swift Reflexes killing mobs around me. I could be wrong on that part however.
When you do break, make sure he's far enough away to not get caught in the AE himself. Repeating this, I was able to break the eggs from furthest to closest before Razorgore himself died. Comment by roenne I finished a quick video via MOP 5. Nothing special here Same strategy, same thing. Comment by WStilgar It's doable, though not easy, for a warrior.
The whole trick is after the first MC runs out, to kill as much of the adds as possible and then: Drop a mocking banner in the middle of the room, this will keep pretty much all adds on you, while you kill off the main chunk of the rest of the eggs, by the time your banner runs out, you will be almost done with eggs and the last few adds will not be enough to get Razorgore down if everything went okay.
Comment by Did this last night as a level 89 Prot warrior with crappy gear. Took me about 6 or 7 tries. I used Enraged Regeneration to heal myself when i wasn't using the orb, and I used Bladestorm to quickly mow the adds down. I've read that threat is supposed to switch from Razorgore to the player automatically once the orb is turned off.
This seems to be true, but it's not instantaneous. There were times where I felt the need to leave the platform and kite the adds and the boss around the room just to be sure I had aggro on them all.
I used heroic leap and charge to stay ahead of the boss and get back to the orb in time to control him again. You can't be too conservative with the boss' health. Once he has adds on him, you have to kill them or he won't survive.
Best of luck! This CAN be done! Comment by Celathien How to solo this boss as a Priest. Lightspring is useful, but any priest spec can do this If you are Holy, place Lightspring in the middle of the room.
Start by clearing the eggs near you. Once the cast time is about halfway, or if there are too many mobs on the Boss, just move it to the opposite side of the room and use "dismiss" on your pet. Immediately heal yourself to get aggro off Razorgore and kill as many adds as you can before the boss gets to you.
Don't ever AoE if the boss gets close to you. Just heal yourself, kite him away while controlling him, dismiss and kill the adds. You might need to dismiss more often if you keep many adds alive since you will take quite a beating near the end.
If you do wipe out all the adds periodically, more will pour out of the four corners, beating Razorgore to death quickly. Also, DON'T let Razorgore get near you, as he will Conflagrate you, stunning you and causing the mobs to start beating on him. He will then aggro some of the mobs to the point where mild healing abilities won't pull them off back to you.
I then quickly mind-controlled Razorgore again before he could conflag me. Tanking adds shouldn't be too bad as a healer, as you can heal yourself up fast and use it as an aggro-pull. So to reiterate: 1 DON'T kill all the mobs, tank them, using heal abilities to pull aggro periodically and keep yourself from croaking.
Good Luck! Comment by Nanocephalic He's easy to beat if you have an instant heal. This system should apply for any class that can target a heal on a friendly pet, which should include hunters , DKs and any healing-capable class. Edit: Apparently mend pet doesn't apply to this kind of pet. I seem to recall an instant pet-healing spell that hunters can spec into, other than that one. As a melee druid, I was unable to beat Razorgore until I used the following system: Put a targetable instant heal on a secondary quickbar Add Razorgore as a focus target.
Stand on the ground, not the dais. Click on the orb and start the event. Ignore the adds. No, really ignore the adds. I never attacked one of them Keep Razorgore on his side of the room, and spam skill 4 to destroy the eggs When there are more than two mobs on him, click on your focus to target Razorgore and hit an instant heal. As Guardian, I still have access to Rejuvenation which works fine. I also cast Rejuvenation on myself. As far as I can recall, only one tick landed on Razorgore.
As soon as possible, click the orb and continue popping eggs. Once the last egg pops, all adds run away and you can quickly dps the boss down. At no point was I attacking anyone. I think the important parts of this system are to have an instant heal ready for casting, and to use it any time the boss has more than one or two adds.
This system worked perfectly for me the first time I tried it. Comment by jedimas I solo'ed this last night as a Prot pally easily and the way that I did it was: 1. I ran in and killed the mobs at the orb. I mc'ed Razorgore and started killing eggs. I ran him to the farthest eggs, because he was further from me when I dropped the mc and when I finished with eggs he was nearby in melee range.
I ignored all the adds beating on Razorgore and kept killing eggs. I used my lay on hands on him to heal him to full, consecrated, and re-mc'ed him. If I was getting overwhelmed with adds, I would use consecrate and hammer of righteous and holy wrath. That would kill the adds around me. I kept killing eggs and if Razorgore got low on health again, I would run him away from me and drop the mc and build up combo points on the trash, re-mc Razorgore and use Word of Glory on him.
This was enough to keep him alive long enough to kill the remaining eggs. Once the eggs were all dead, the mc broke and I went to town on him with my prot dps. He wasn't alive for long. It's important to remember that you can use healing abilities on Razorgore if you have him selected. It will break the MC but it'll heal him before it breaks. This is key because if you don't have any healing abilities, the adds will either overwhelm you or him.
Bandages would also work but you'd only get one tick of it before the mc breaks and that's not enough to keep him alive for long. Also remember to drop the MC every now and than to get the adds to agro onto you instead of him. The less you have to heal him, the faster you can kill the eggs. The cooldown on the egg breaker is now 1. You may be able to kill all the eggs without healing him if you drop the mc often enough to get most of the adds on you.
I got lucky and he dropped the new pet for me. Good luck to you all! After wiping only once due to an addon preventing me from using Destroy Eggs yea..
I know , I found it to be an easy kill. The last mechanic mentioned basically made "Adds killing Razorgore" a non-issue in the fight as long as you are smart about your path in destroying eggs don't stay on the other side of the room for too long. I do not suggest trying to kill adds as they stack up, as this appears to only cause MORE adds to start flooding in.
The real trick to the fight is keeping your body alive while you destroy eggs as more and more waves of adds start beating you. The fight itself is still the same in regards to kill the 3 on the platform, take control of Razorgore, destroy eggs and waves of adds spawn after 30 secs of the initial pull. Plenty of people have tried to kill him straight away which results in the normal wipe regardless of immunities used eg Paladin Shield or Mage Ice-block. Also, if the adds kill him it's the same result.
The adds spawn still do the same damage, which doesn't do much to a 90 individually but the more you have spawn on you the worse it gets.
They'll still do the same damage as before to Razorgore so getting them off him is a priority, especially if he starts taking lots of noticeable damage. Don't let yourself or Razorgore get overwhelmed. This means you can release him at any time and retake control when ready.
Just remember 1 key thing - if Razorgore reaches the orb he destroys it and kills you instantly. This means you can clear all the eggs really fast if you just focus and don't mess around with any of his other abilities. He's soloable as I've done so around 10 minutes ago with the greatest of ease. Comment by As a Frost DK regular DPS build and gear it was easy when I started Razorgore close to me it seemed to keep much more of the adds on me instead of him.
For my kill I killed the 3 adds at the orb and waited for Razor to get close to the dais with the controlling orb but MC him before he gets on the dais so he doesn't conflag you. I then started destroying the eggs on that dais and across the room toward the other side. When the first MC was getting ready to run out I ran him to the opposite dais destroying eggs up there until it ran out and then killed all of the adds currently on me like 2 frost blasts and then took back Razor and easily finished off the rest of the eggs without either of us getting low HP.
After the last egg is destroyed he goes back to full HP but is an easy kill. Comment by pengo Useful information for soloing in patch 5. Comment by Akgis As a warlock soloing this for pet farming in 5. This way the adds go to you instead of Razergore letting you destroy eggs pacefully as you draw the adds to smack you instead of him. Comment by billimek I was able to complete this as a hunter after three attempts: I specced into Survival and took the 'Exhiliration' talent for a self-heal thinking that the heal would draw aggro.
The first thing I did was kill the three mobs near the orb and then quickly dropped a explosive trap and ice trap near me on the platform.
Then took control of the orb you can't have an active pet BTW. Like others stated, I cleared the eggs on the MC platform first and then made my way along the left wall towards the other platform and cleared there. The MC dropped just as I had razorgore jump down from the platform. Then it was simply a matter of summoning the pet and DPSing him down.
I didn't think it was possible to solo as a hunter but turns out that it is. Comment by Jeolene So, I've been trying this for the past couple of days after 5.
I also noticed that some of the eggs did not "die" when I tried to destroy them, having to do them twice. Seems things are glitched or blizz put things back they way they were with this new patch to keep us from just walking in and steamrolling the raid. Comment by Furydeath Ya this sure if soloable minus the 5 eggs you can't get cause the boss dies from only have like 3 mobs on him. Comment by Googla Control Razorgore, destroy as many eggs as you can.
If you get aggro dismiss him by clicking his frame then heal you own character. This will make you aggro his enemies. Dont kill them with your char it will only spawn more. Keep on doing this, and when you killed all the eggs, kill him slowly otherwise he will whipe the whole raid because of some bug. So to sum it up. Easy stuff. I ended up killing the last egg with only a few seconds to spare, and about 20k health left on my guy. Comment by R2detoo I just soloed this as a Shadow Priest ilvl on first try, although it was almost a wipe.
Destroy the eggs as quickly as possible; when the mind control ends or you are too low on health: - shield yourself, - AOE the adds - heal yourself, - and start over again.
Hope this helps! Comment by Storsiken Battle Horn was extremely helpful. Break eggs until the control runs out the first time, use the horn to get most mobs off Razorgore and use the orb again to finish off the eggs. Comment by Yark1y Down pretty easily from 1st try. Retribution paladin. Kill video. Comment by thejokernodq The worst part of this whole darn new fight is the loooooooooooooong way back if by some chance you wipe or glitch out and die!
Would like to hear someones' advice for warlock solo'ing of this encounter. Comment by blasphemous9 Just thought I'd add my two cents on how I solo this guy after 5.
Any class with a instant HOT ability, preferably spec'd into your heal spec but I did it on my shadow priest without problems. If his health starts to dip just select him while you still have him MC'd then cast your hot. The MC will end but your super duper high level HOT will be applied and pretty much heal any damage he'll take.
I had to do it twice, along with healing myself up. Makes it pretty easy. Comment by Sarolyn After 5. I successfully attempted this earlier today in Dark Apotheosis with grimoire of sacrifice. This will heal him up and deal a good amount of damage to everything near him, which should ensure that you get aggro on everything.
Eternal Flame is also a good talent to have for this fight, on the pull, get at least three charges of Holy Power, MC Razorgore, when you want to break the MC, apply a for the level of content huge HOT. Both are pretty good since keeping the boss alive is the biggest challenge in the encounter.
Comment by Kiingy I had some trouble at first with soloing him as a Hunter. You will also be unable to use any pets with the exception of Stampede. I tried as all 3 specs and BM was the easiest. Before you start grab a spirit beast pet and Charred Glyph if you don't have 5 of them. Start the fight as usual, drop an explosive trap unglyphed at your feet and start killing the eggs. You should keep aggro until the first MC runs out and the explosive trap will handle everything excluding the dragons.
Keep dropping explosives and throwing Multi-Shots and Glaive Toss between mind controls. Once you're on low HP, pop Stampede on the mobs near you drop an explosive trap if its off cooldown and get back to the eggs while they clean up the trash. All 5 pets should drop their HoT on you getting you back to full HP.
Once stampede ends, Razorgores abilities bug and become greyed out, you will have to drop and remind control. Each time MC drops most of the adds on Razor will run to you, so do it frequently and keep dropping explosive traps. Comment by orcsmash OK I just soloed this as a Blood DK, it's soloable but not faceroll, I wiped a few times before figuring out that you MUST cancel the MC when ever mobs are running towards Razorgore so they switch aggro to you instead, you can use that oppurtunity to get in a couple of death strikes to keep your health up.
If you don't break MC and force mobs to switch aggro to you constantly, Razorgore will die. Using this strat I was able to kill him pretty easily. Comment by brothernads This is how I soloed him as a prot paladin in decent gear ilevel.
I made it to an egg right before the far platform before the adds started spawning. Reclicked orb before Razorgore got to me. Reclicked orb after heal. Comment by Wulfrick First time soloing tonight. After several tries, this was the strat that worked for me: - Flasked and fed Prot Warrior for the stamina to take a long beating from a lot of adds - MC Razorgore and get to work on the eggs as fast as possible, starting with the platform you're on and taking the shortest route to the next one.
Get about halfway across the room and start making it trhough the center, always going for the closest egg, until you're at the opposite side of the ramp you went down the platform from. If you take the perfect route you can get the far half of the room in one MC. Throw every AOE you've got to eliminate a few adds, then before Razorgore gets over to you and you start accidentally damaging him , throw down Mocking Banner and re-MC boss right away.
I was able to get all the eggs in 2 MCs and that was with my last egg being on the far opposite side of the room from the MC orb I walked away a split second too early and it cancelled it , but I made it with maybe 3 seconds to spare.
Then it's just tolerate Razorgore's MCs while you beat the snot out of him heal as needed but at k health, a few Victory Rush's And bonus, he dropped the pet for me. Comment by Im trying to solo him but theres no option to "dismiss" him or "leave vehicle" as others say. While i had on my addons there was a button to "leave vehicle" but clicking on it did nothing. When my addons were all turned off there was no such button whatsoever. This is extremely frustrating as towards the end of the fight the adds start ganging up on him and i cant remove control so i can get aggro.
Comment by Important note for those solo'ing this boss: This is from before the days of vehicle combat, so there is no actual "Leave Vehicle" button. While you can hit the Esc key to drop out of him, this will cause Razorgore to maintain whatever aggro he had while you were controlling him, and this will make him die rather quickly.
If you do this, he will drop aggro properly and everything will come running to you. Do this any time he starts taking noticeable damage.
At that point you just heal and AoE down as much as you can, then control the boss again. Lather, rinse, repeat until all the eggs are down. Comment by Birdyjuice Well this was a pain. I don't have MoP so I'm trying on 85 characters. My warrior I go close, but ended up failing repeatedly. Disaster on my Moonkin. Didn't want to try many of my other characters. Feral druid was up next.
I was able to kill the controller quickly in Bear form. Then got a good amount of eggs down. After that I just dismissed Razor when the timer was low. Put a rejuv on myself, and used a healing touch along with any defensive cooldowns. Maybe swiped a time or 2 and went back to eggs. The first time I let Razor get too low and missed it by 1 freaking egg.
The next time I got it easily. So Ferals are a good choice for an annoying freaking boss to solo. Comment by draenen I posted this somewhere else earlier today, but to reiterate here: the trick to soloing Razorgore as a mage is to glyph evocation to regen health and to use Rune of Power, but it's also important to NOT use Ice Barrier - the adds need to do damage to you so that the rune can heal it up so that you generate healing aggro on the adds.
If Ice Barrier is active, you aren't taking damage, so your rune isn't healing you, so you're not generating any healing aggro, so the adds stick to Razorgore. I went from Razorgore dying with eggs left to him destroying all the eggs with half his health left by doing it this way.
Hope this helps. Comment by Also note that Razorgore counts as a controllable pet, and WoW will only ever let you have one controllable pet out at a time. Its already been said, but dismiss your hunter pet and your warlock demon to be able to use the orb. However, uncontrolled pets may still exist while you control the boss. Uncontrolled pets are those that you cannot issue orders to.
They will continue clearing adds for you while you return to breaking eggs. Comment by xtinakat As an Ele shaman and after many attempts the only way I managed to pull this off is to work from the orb side of the room and making sure I have Razorgore as far away from me at the end of the MC channel as possible. In the few seconds I had before he made it back over to the orb I pop magma totem to make sure Im doing damage to the adds, toss a quick healing surge on myself and put Healing Rain in the middle of the floor.
As soon as Razorgore was MCd again Id put him in healing rain for a few seconds because my biggest issue across the board was him dying and the little bit of healing to him made a huge difference. Wiped so many times but realised that killing the adds wasn't the most important thing. I found Gorefiend's Grasp was the best thing to use in this fight.
It has a one minute cooldown but you can destroy the eggs and keep the aggro off of Razorgore just long enough.
First I destroyed as many eggs as I could before the adds started spawning then removed MC once Razorgore gained aggro, then used Gorefiend's Grasp on him which pulled his adds towards me. I aoe'd as many as I could while far away from Razorgore then MC'd him again. Don't worry about killing the adds, just make sure you pull them away from him whenever you release MC and have the spell off cooldown and keep yourself alive. I think you're not allowed to have the improved elementals talent, because they will despawn then when you MC the boss I'm not sure about this.
This way you'll barely have to keep an eye on the adds, as your pets will just kill and agro them all. I'd suggest doing this after you lose control the first time or if there are too many nuking razorgore.
Comment by toppjubei Very easy as prot warrior. Get straight onto killing eggs press 4 and keep Razorgore away from your channeling toon.
Kill eggs as fast as possible. Once channeling ends pop CDs to kill all the adds on you, then as Razorgore gets to you on his own throw down mocking banner to get adds back on you and off boss and continue killing eggs. Once all eggs are gone you can kill everything, including boss. Comment by both For those trying to solo this in 5. No AoE required. Comment by vampirechickk Anyone else having trouble with the first boss in blackwing lair? I kill the mobs to the left and click the orb and it won't control the boss!
Comment by essmene Bulding threat by healing does help a lot in this fight. I focus targeted him and used Power Word: Shield. At any given time there can be 40 adds in the room. Was like that in vanilla and is the same now.
Adds spawning tend to aggro you when Razorgore is near you. The farthest away he is eg. When the Mind Control breaks Razor will cast some of his abilities on the adds and he will pull some from you for sure.
He is aggressive towards both you and the adds. Don't let him too long out of MC. You cannot have a pet eg. There might be some delay and some difficulty because of the adds around you but if it finally worked and you press it again you will get the 8 secs debuff making you unable to control Razor for the duration. Click once, wait to see if it worked and if not try again. I started destroying the eggs near the controller and continue destroying the ones near me.
This caused all mobs spawning attack me and not Razorgore. Just before the MC broke for the first time I tried to have Razor away so to give me some time to cast some healing on me did the fight as elemental shaman. You can use also a pot.
I recast MC and continue to break eggs. By now most adds should be on you and only a few on him. Most of the adds should have spawn by now. The rest will not do so much dmg on him. One hard thing is to keep an eye on yourself and time when you break the MC to heal yourself if you need to.
Comment by togahsisoka I found that as I got better at efficiently destroying eggs getting the most out of each MC , the harder it got. Of course the gut reaction is to try to clear eggs even faster I finally realized that destroying eggs generates aggro duh , so naturally destroying them too fast gets too much aggro on Razorgore and he'll get worn down faster.
Don't be afraid to dismiss him early, clear some adds, get some more aggro on you and then send him back to work. Comment by Glaucus A tip if you are soloing this as a rogue and are about to fail on the eggs, when he dies you get thrown out of the mind control, use Cloak of shadows right away, and you will not die.
Comment by Vorh Just did this as a lv88 destro loc with a saced daemon and found something interesting. The passive healing from the sac was drawing all the adds agro away from raz, I was just running around in raz until my loc got low on health, got out poped a health stone and aoed down some the mobs.
I usually did this when the mc released naturally. Comment by The fight is ninja buffed or bugged. I have soloed him really easily every week since 5. Now i tried to kill him many many times with same gear and same spec as usual. Second Wind did generate almost zero aggro when there was loads of adds. Any class with a healing ability should just keep healing themselves while letting all of the adds beat on you. The room can only hold 40 adds, and they aggro very quickly on anyone healing themselves.
Once 40 are out, there are none left to beat on Razorgore if they are all beating on you via the healing aggro. It might actually help to start this fight about half health so that you can have more room to get healing aggro.
Comment by 5. The threat Razergore gets from mobs entering the room is close to non existent, the mobs have only a sight aggro to him, You healing yourself should be enough of a taunt to the room to pull mobs that razorgore has not auto attacked back to switch to you, the mobs that wont turn onto you can be easily singled out and picked off, Cleared as bear tank using this method, gl.
Comment by Irollpally As some have stated above in 5. If you are a tank there a better method of doing this fight and is much simpler. First you kill the adds that are controlling the orb then quickly get the orb of command and destroy as many eggs asap. Phase 2 is easy, by this time i had around kk health on my pally.
I tend to make crappy forum posts. Comment by Wahrsager He is Soloable, being a tank druid you can start the channel and kill up your eggs.
Once the mind control starts to drop get him close and target him to use a Rejuv. It breaks mc and puts a hot on razorgore, hit the orb and watch the mobs swarm you while you finish up the eggs. Gotta keep up the HoTs though, plus side is razorgore stays at max health.
Comment by Nylers 5. Make sure you have Second Wind. I tried soloing it without that talent and failed several times. Every so often dismiss Razergore and kill any adds that are attacking him.
Be careful not to kill any adds that you have aggro'd. The reason for this is only 40 adds can spawn and if they are all attacking you, then Razergore will not be attacked. Once the eggs are cleared the adds run away and you can then kill Razergore easily. First off, once I had him MCed, I started destroying the eggs closest to the orb working toward the opposite wall.
The first few times I tried it, I pulled out my pet in between MCs to use death pact to heal myself and didn't realize until a few tries later that my summoned pet was the reason I couldn't MC the boss again.
Comment by pellmell Easily the fastest way to drop control of Razorgore, rather than hitting the exit vehicle button or right-clicking and dismissing, is to simply hit Escape. Comment by gbergalli after several attempts i was able to solo this one with my balance druid.
Comment by What I've found works really well is to kill the controller and channel as everyone else has stated, and then start off by killing the eggs closest to the channelling orb first, and work your way back.
By the time the channeling timer is up, Razorore should be far away from you and you will have a few seconds to AoE the mobs attacking you. Then it's very important to start channelling again before Raz gets to the platform. What I've noticed is that he doesn't take all that much damage from the mobs attacking him; what gets his HP down is when he's on the platform with you, he takes a ton of AoE damage.
Comment by What I have discovered to work best is to immediately aoe the three mobs that are on the platform with the orb. Drop off the front of the platform and stand close enough to it that you can still interact with the orb.
After that control Razorgore and work your way back to the side you're on. Start clearing the eggs on the other platform and just snake your way back, completely ignore the adds on Razorgore. I just tried again with my still 80! Paladin, and failed this time. Razorgore and Chromaggus mechanics were kinda annoying to figure out but the rest was pretty easy. Got chest and helm pieces from Nefarion, was unlucky with the rest of the bosses.
I hope to get more lucky next week. This topic was automatically closed 30 days after the last reply. New replies are no longer allowed. If some adds are killed, new ones will spawn to replace them. This phase ends when all the eggs in the room are destroyed, at which point all adds flee and Razorgore heals himself to full health.
If Razorgore runs out of health before all of the eggs are destroyed, he will unleash a massive attack that instantly kills all units in the room players and creatures , and resets the room. The objective of Phase 3 is to kill Razorgore. Hopefully enough of the raid survived phase 2 to bring him down While mind-controlled, Razorgore exposes these abilities to the controlling player, listed using their default hotkey:. This is a quick and dirty fight. Aggroing this mob also aggroes Razorgore, so this phase needs to be completed as quickly as possible.
The controller has a mind control ability, so kill him first. CCing his guards is not a good idea because it takes too much time; better tank them, some raids even use AoE. The faster these three are dead the better.
When this is done, have someone take control of the controlling orb. The following general strategy works best for raids while learning this encounter. There are variations possible like using fear, or Razorgore's firebolt cluster , but the general idea mostly remains the same. In the room corners are two spawn points each the little "rooms" which are lower than the normal floor.
From these points, up to 52 adds spawn rather quickly, but randomly. The types of adds and how they should be dealt with are:. All adds have initial aggro on the Razorgore controller.
The mage types will run to the center of the room and start to attack the controller with their ranged fireballs - this must not happen. Since the number of adds is limited 12 dragonkin and 40 orcs , killing only the mages will eventually lead to a room full of melee orcs and dragonkin. It's a good idea to set up at least one 5 players group consisting of rogues, mages and warlocks to watch each corner and kill the mages spawning there.
Have an assist target set up in each corner group. It is a good idea to have the MT or at least some "hard" class warrior, paladin or feral druid control him, because Razorgore will have an infinite amount of aggro on his former controller in Phase 3.
Controlling Razorgore is a channeled effect which regularly wears off after 90 seconds. The "destroy egg" ability has a cooldown of 1. Beyond this, Razorgore has a fire ball volley, and the ability to sleep dragonkin. It can help to position Razorgore away from the orb near the end of the control periods, so he cannot immediately attack the controller. Do not double-click the orb. If you do that you will get the mind exhaustion debuff which means that you can't control him and someone else will need to take over.
The boss will be loose while this happens and that's bad. If the sleep dragonkin ability is to be used, a dedicated assist for this purpose should be set up. This person keeps a lookout for loose dragonkin, and targets them. The Razorgore controller can then assist and sleep while waiting for the destroy egg cooldown.
There appears to be no cap on the number of dragons he can sleep, so a skilled controller can take as many as four dragonkin out of the fight. If Razorgore dies before this phase is complete, he will produce a large death explosion which will kill everything in the room.
Well-timed Ice Blocks will save a death and enable wipe recovery, though the run back is short. All healing classes should be used to heal because healing aggro is the reason for most wipes here.
Since it is impossible to establish solid aggro on 52 mobs, healers must be extremely cautious. In order to distribute healing aggro as much as possible, use shield all the time, and ranked-down heals and healing stream totems if available , and take care to heal as many different targets as possible. Wipes usually happen because some healer draws healing aggro and gets killed, then the other healers have to heal more, and get aggro in turn.
Alternatively, the wipe happens when a kiter dies because he didn't get healed enough , and his train then turns on the healers. Avoid the use of HoTs; their frequent ticks are more likely to cause the caster to the threat-lead as adds join the fight.
Conveniently, however, Power Word: Shield has a reduced threat per hp shielded, in addition to a threat gain on application. This spell applied to kiters before they enter combat is very threat-efficient. When kiting the adds, it is important to gain a speed advantage over them. Hunters have their speed increase buff, while warriors have an AoE slowdown debuff. Dragonkin are immune to the latter, they also ignore the effect of stoneclaw totem. Thus if warriors kite dragonkin, they should use the platforms and stairs to gain a speed advantage.
The trick is to jump off the platforms, because the mobs will not jump, but instead run down the nearest ramp. The kiter should then run across the room up the opposite ramp, wait on the platform, and jump off when the chase is within yards. The pause is important because if they run too fast, the mobs will not run up the platform but instead take the shortcut.
